چکیده

2014 The 28Si(p, y) reaction data have been analysed in terms of two alternative versions of the directsemidirect model. The extrapolation of the theoretical excitation functions has been made and the astrophysical S-factor has been extracted with no significant differences between the predictions of the models. The analysis reveals the dominant role of the nonresonant process at temperatures less than T9 = 0.10. J. Physique 46 (1985) 1881-1885 NOVEMBRE 1985, Classification Physics Abstracts 25.40L 25.40

Solar models and NACRE thermonuclear reaction rates

Using the most recent updated physics, calibrated solar models have been computed with the new thermonuclear reaction rates of NACRE, the recently available European compilation. Comparisons with models computed with the reaction rates of Caughlan & Fowler (1988) and of Adelberger et al. (1998) are made for global structure, expected neutrinos fluxes, chemical composition and sound speed profil...

Letter to the Editor Suppression of thermonuclear reactions in dense plasmas instead of Salpeter’s enhancement

A kinetic description of collective plasma effects for the thermonuclear reaction rates based on the generalization of modern plasma fluctuation approach shows that, in contrast to Salpeter’s enhancement, a decrease of the thermonuclear reaction rates is present which is larger for larger nuclei charge. By numerical evaluation of the thermonuclear reaction rates in the solar interior it is foun...

Astrophysical Thermonuclear Functions

Stars are gravitationally stabilized fusion reactors changing their chemical composition while transforming light atomic nuclei into heavy ones. The atomic nuclei are supposed to be in thermal equilibrium with the ambient plasma. The majority of reactions among nuclei leading to a nuclear transformation are inhibited by the necessity for the charged participants to tunnel through their mutual C...

Review of Mathematical Techniques Applicable in Astrophysical Reaction Rate Theory

An overview is presented on statistical techniques for the analytic evaluation of integrals for non-resonant, non-resonant depleted, non-resonant cut-off, non-resonant sccreened, and resonant thermonuclear reaction rates. The techniques are based on statistical distribution theory and the theory of Meijer’s G-function and Fox’s H-function. The implementation of Meijer’s G-function in Mathematic...

Prediction of Thermonuclear Reaction Rates in Astrophysics

Recent improvements and remaining problems in the prediction of thermonuclear rates are reviewed. The main emphasis is on statistical model calculations, but the challenge to include direct reactions close to the driplines is also briefly addressed. Further theoretical as well as experimental investigations are motivated.
